Aspect #10
ESSENCE BOOK #1
“Respect your efforts, respect yourself. Self-respect leads to self-discipline. When you have both firmly under your belt, that's real power.”
~ Clint Eastwood
ESSENCE: Respect for ourselves, everyone, and everything is essential for living a harmonious and balanced life.
Respect is having regard for the feelings, wishes, rights, or traditions of ourselves, others, and all of life on Earth. When we are respectful with ourselves inwardly, then our tendency is to be respectful outwardly.
Living a respectful life involves treating everyone and everything with consideration, kindness, and dignity. It means valuing and honoring our own and other people’s feelings, perspectives, and rights. It also includes the consideration of cultural differences, displaying empathy, and being courteous in all of our interactions with life. Ultimately, living a respectful life leads to fostering positive relationships within our communities and the world around us.
Sleeping Souls have a greater tendency to be disrespectful to others, as many disrespect themselves. They tend to overlook this correlation of inward and outward respect, not realizing they generally mirror one another. Many tend to behave in ways that demean others’ feelings, perspectives, and/or rights. Their behavior can be rude, insensitive, and/or dismissive toward people and the Earth. Many Sleeping Souls have strained relationships and conflicts with other people, thus negatively impacting personal well-being and community harmony. Some begin to seek.
Seekers tend to learn that respect for everyone and everything is crucial for living a peaceful and harmonious life on Earth. Many who have been carrying feelings of guilt and shame learn to forgive, accept, and respect themselves. They tend to learn that self-care is self-respect, treating their bodies as the temple of their Souls. Many strive to repair and heal strained relationships in their lives, not only with people but with the environment, as the way we respect Nature is a reflection of how we respect ourselves.
Awakened respect. Most notably, they respect themselves. They realize respect is key to fostering trust and meaningful relationships. Their inner relationship of self-trust reflects outwardly into the world. They experience the peace and harmony that accompany their level of respect. The greater their respect, the greater their peace and harmony. Their tendency is to treat themselves, others, and the environment with consideration, kindness, and dignity. Awakened are accepting of cultural differences, displaying empathy and being courteous in all of their interactions with life. They tend to master their ability to foster positive relationships within their communities and the world around them. Awakened tend to be advocates of lifelong learning….
