If you want others to be happy, practice compassion.

If you want to be happy, practice compassion.

~ Dalai Lama

ESSENCE: Having compassion for others who are less fortunate than ourselves is a sign of spiritual awakening.

Compassion is the sympathetic concern for the sufferings or misfortunes of others. If our hearts are closed, compassion cannot eXpand. As we love and care for one another, our compassion eXpands, contributing to the rise of the collective energetic vibration. The more open our hearts become, the more we feel concern and love for others.

Compassion is not limited to other people, as it includes all of Nature and ourselves. We need to nurture ourselves, negating the limiting belief that self-care is selfish.

Do we get enough sound sleep?

Do we eat well?

Do we exercise?

Do we meditate?

Do we listen to our bodies?

Do we allow ourselves to be authentic?

Do we allow ourselves to feel the emotions bubbling up inside of us when we get triggered?

Nurturing ourselves enables us to help nurture others.

Sleeping Souls tend to have a more self-centered nature than a compassionate one. Many that do nurture themselves tend to focus primarily on the physical aspects of their outer looks, while not spending enough time within, connecting with their hearts. Some Sleeping Souls are philanthropists who own major companies that are decimating the Earth and hurting people. Generally, their compassionate gestures of donating large sums of money are not authentic; many are simply feeding their egos, while positively positioning themselves and their companies in the public eye. On the other side of the scale are those Sleeping Souls who are truly compassionate people who find themselves in desperate situations, living on Earth in survival mode. Some begin to seek.

Seekers tend to transition from mind-centered to heart-centered lives. As their hearts open, they become more compassionate, feeling the elation of helping and caring for others. They tend to learn that compassion is not so much about giving from the wallet, but about giving from the heart. Volunteering, listening, supporting, encouraging, loving, recognizing, and caring are all nonmonetary gestures of compassion.

Awakened tend to give from their hearts and their wallets. They’ve learned the importance of giving without expecting anything in return. They give to give, not give to get. Their joy of giving is, to them, receiving. Their humility ensures them freedom from thinking of themselves. Through their wisdom, they have compassion for all those who are suffering. Awakened have come to realize that if we intend to systemically changing our global community to one of peace and love, then each of us must do our inner work to raise our energetic vibrations in order to collectively connect as One powerful force of unity…..

I live my life with compassion for myself and others.

I give to give, not give to get.
