Aspect #40
ESSENCE BOOK #1
“Each of us wants to be free. But if we want to be free, we also need to appreciate that others also desire the same thing.”
~ Tulsi Gabbard
ESSENCE: Freedom is our birthright.
Freedom is the power or right to speak, act, and change as one wants without hindrance or restraint. Freedom is often associated with liberty and autonomy in the sense of giving oneself one's own laws. Something is free if it can change and is not constrained in its present state.
In the United States, freedom is our foundational concept enshrined in various historical documents and upheld through legal and cultural practices. Freedom encompasses multiple dimensions, including political freedom, civil liberties, economic freedom, personal freedom, and legal protections. American culture highly values freedom and independence, viewing them as essential to our personal and national identity. Although, during times of crisis–such as during wars, assassination attempts, or terrorists threats–the balance between maintaining security and protecting individual freedoms becomes a significant debate.
Freedom is our birth-right. Only the oppressors give themselves the right to constrict our freedom, as we are not granting them the right to do so. This is why civil rights movements have fought to expand the definition of freedom to include marginalized groups, addressing issues such as racial equality, women’s rights, and LGBTQ+ rights. We must protect our freedom. We must remain aware. Otherwise, those who neither study nor care about politics will be governed by those who do.
Sleeping Souls tend to be trapped in situations, relationship, and challenges that constrict their freedom to live a peaceful and happy life. Many lack the confidence to stand up for themselves and for their birthright of freedom. They tend to allow others to control them, limiting their freedom even more. Many Sleeping Souls are judgmental of how others ought to be and live. Their self-righteousness limits their freedom, constricting their perspective, not seeing life as it actually is. Many are caught up in living a life of illusions. Most simply don’t realize that anything that separates is an illusion. Some Sleeping Souls realize that separation constricts our freedom. Some begin to seek.
Seekers generally learn to identify reality by determining what is real and what is an illusion. Their personal growth generally eXpands as they clearly determine who they are not, allowing their authentic selves to emerge. They value their freedom to choose the life they desire to live, and have the bravery to live it.
Awakened are free. They tend to be emotionally free and psychologically free; some are even financially free. Freedom is paramount to the Awakened. Many are willing to stand up during times when freedom gets challenged. Awakened tend to be open-hearted and generous people, fully engaged in giving and receiving....
