1) What is this partnership?

It’s an at-will publishing partnership between Princeton Green LLC / PG Publishing and you as a human translator. You use PG’s AI-assisted workflow, then human-edit and culturally refine the translation to produce a publishable edition. You earn ongoing royalties from published translations.

2) Is this a job?

No. This is not employment. It does not create an employer–employee relationship, agency, joint venture, or exclusive obligation.

3) What does “at-will” mean?

Either you or PG can end the partnership at any time, for any reason or no reason, with or without notice. Termination does not affect royalties earned from completed, published translations already live for sale.

4) What books will be translated?

We are starting with:

• ESSENCE (Fourth Edition)

• Hazel’s Adventures 44-Book Series

In addition, other books by other authors may also be translated through PG Publishing over time.

5) When am I officially “Onboarded”?

You are ONBOARDED only when all required steps are complete—legal, tax, system access, and communication. If any required item is missing, your status is Pending, not Onboarded.

6) What are the onboarding requirements?

To be Onboarded, all of the following must be complete:

• Language assignment secured

• You are confirmed for a specific language or variant

• Language ownership is recorded in the master tracker

• No other active translator is assigned to that language

• Agreement accepted + required tax documentation

• Agreement accepted via electronic submission

• U.S. independent contractor: Form W-4

• Outside U.S.: other tax forms may be required

• Team communication commitment

• Translation team meetings are the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month at 10:00am ET on Signal

• If you can’t attend, you agree to read the meeting notes and acknowledge to the team that you read them

• System access established

• You have a Google Gmail address

• PG creates your dedicated Google Drive folder

• PG uploads Affinity Publisher source files

• PG uploads the PDF AI prompting file

• Communication channel connected

• You are invited to Signal and added to the PG Translation Team group

• You have a computer (at least 8MB RAM preferred as written)

• You have stable internet

• You have a Pro AI account, as Free AI accounts are limited. PG can provide a NEW account 50% discount link for ChatGPT, netting to  $120 for the first year.

• Onboarding confirmation logged

• A Translator Gatherer confirms all onboarding steps are complete

• Tracker updated to Onboarded = YES and Status = Onboarded

7) Why is onboarding defined so strictly?

To ensure legal/tax compliance, clear royalty eligibility, consistent quality standards, clean handoffs, and zero language overlap.

8) Who is the author and how will I be credited?

Bo Lockwood is the co-author of ESSENCE and Hazel’s Adventures, and partners with others to operate PG Publishing.

Your name will appear in each translated edition as Translator, creating a published professional credential.

In addition to ESSENCE and Hazel’s Adventures, other books by other authors may also be translated through PG Publishing. We are starting with ESSENCE and Hazel’s Adventures.

9) How do royalties work?

For each translated book:

• 25% of net royalties → PG Publishing

• 75% of net royalties → Author Pool

• Author Pool split:

• 50% to Author

• 50% to Translator

10) What does “net royalties” mean?

“Net royalties” refers to royalties received after the publishing platform’s standard deductions (per their rules). The partnership split is calculated from that net amount.

11) Do I get Amazon affiliate earnings too?

Yes. If you join Amazon Associate independently, 100% of your affiliate earnings are yours. It’s optional and separate from royalties.

12) What tools/software do I need?

Required:

• A decent computer with 8MB RAM

• A Google Gmail address

• Affinity Publisher (required)

• Free trial allowed

• PG reimburses the one-time license cost after your first completed book (per the Agreement)

AI tools (one or more):

• ChatGPT, Claude, and/or Gemini

• Pro plan required (free versions are limited)

• PG can provide a 50% discount link ($120/year) if creating a new ChatGPT account on ChatGPT

Optional:

• Amazon Associate link for marketing purposes

13) Are AI-only translations allowed?

No. AI-only translations are NOT acceptable. Human editing and cultural refinement are required.

14) What quality standards apply?

PG may request revisions. Substandard work can result in termination of the partnership.

15) Can I publish or resell the translation myself?

No. Independent publication, resale, reuse, or distribution is prohibited. Though, you can become an Amazon Associate, and earn commissions for selling the books you translated in your language(s). 

16) Who owns the translated work?

Translations are derivative works licensed exclusively to Princeton Green LLC (PG and PGP divisions of Princeton Green LLC).
PG retains publishing and distribution rights.

You retain:

• Credit as Translator

• Royalty participation per the Agreement

17) Are files and prompts confidential?

Yes. Manuscripts, prompts, workflows, files, and unpublished materials are confidential and may not be shared or reused outside this partnership.

18) Are expenses reimbursed?

PG reimburses the one-time Affinity Publisher license after the first completed book. No other expenses are reimbursed without written approval.

19) What happens if the partnership ends?

Published books continue earning royalties for completed, live translations. Unfinished projects may be reassigned. No future obligations beyond earned royalties.

20) Can I recruit other translators?

Yes, optionally. Recruitment is at-will. Watch the Translation Team video to understand our partnership structure.

21) How does recruitment compensation work?

Recruitment compensation:

• Does not reduce the recruited translator’s share

• Is paid solely from the Author’s proceeds

• PG Publishing’s share is unaffected

Two pathways:

• Company-Led Onboarding: Recruiter receives 25% of the Author’s net author proceeds (≈ 12.5% of total royalties), ongoing

• Translator-Led Onboarding: Recruiter receives 50% of the Author’s net author proceeds (≈ 25% of total royalties), ongoing

22) What law governs this agreement?

The Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Florida.

23) How do I accept the agreement?

Electronically accept the At-Will AI Book Translation Partnership Agreement. Also, by accessing files, submitting translations, or participating in recruitment, you acknowledge that you’ve read, understand, and accept the Agreement and its terms.
